これは電気工事店に勤務している友人Ｋから聞いた話だ。
聞き書きだが、脚色はしていない。
その年の夏、Ｋはとある家にクーラーの設置工事に行くことになった。
その家はいわゆる集合住宅というやつで、平屋建ての家を壁で仕切り４世帯が入居できるようになっていた。
Ｋの依頼主は向かって右から２番目にあり、建物の構造上、屋根裏に空調ダクトを通さねばならなかった。
そのためＫは依頼主の部屋から屋根裏に入り、猛烈な暑さの中、汗びっしょりになりながら作業を始めようとした。
