俺を助けてくれた母の話。
俺は野球が好きだった。
小学校の時、はじめてホームランを打った時のあのバットの感触が忘れられない。
俺の学生時代は朝から晩までボールを追って過ごす、ただそれだけの毎日だった。
そんな生活に不満を感じたことは一度もない。
仲間とみんなで、甲子園を目指して汗を流すことは充実感に満ちていたし、なによりも母子家庭で育った俺は、野球の力を買われ特待生として学費の援助を受けられることが母を助けているような気がして嬉しかった。
